Zugspitze, Germany - December 2002

The Zugspitze is Germany's highest mountain, and at 2962m there is always a guarantee of snow on the Glacier from November onwards.

Jacobi, Michael and myself, set off on a cold foggy morning (-6C) to Garmisch-Partenkirchen the scene of the 1936 Winter Olympics - just an hour south of Munich. The fog lifted and we were greeted by a splendid sunny day with good snow conditions.
